The Community Services Department is dedicated to serving the public and improving the quality of life for our citizens.  The Department is comprised of the Tempe Public Library, Cultural Services which includes the Historical Museum and the Tempe Center for the Arts, currently under construction on Tempe Town Lake, and Social Services offering programs such as Kid Zone, CARE 7 and our Multigenerational Centers which serve our citizens every day.  Community Services offers a variety of programs, classes and workshops for citizens of all ages.

Tom began his career with the City of Tempe in October 1975 after graduating from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  While earning his bachelors degree he also earned a Certificate in Secondary Education and taught school in Detroit.  Tom earned his Masters in Social Work with an emphasis on Administration from Arizona State University.

During his tenure with the City, he has received many honors and has served the community in many capacities. He was appointed to Department Manager for Community Services in April of 2001 where he continues to serve today.
