Superfund Basic Research ProgramWith this 2008 RFA, NIEHS is proposing the continuation of the SBRP to address the broad, complex health and environmental issues that arise from the multimedia nature of hazardous waste sites. Grants made under the SBRP will be for coordinated, multi-project, multi-disciplinary programs. The objective remains to establish and maintain a unique Program that links and integrates biomedical research with related engineering, hydrogeologic, and ecologic components. The 2008 RFA was released on October 1, 2008. The application deadline for the 2008 Request for Applications (RFA) for the Multiproject Program (P42) grants was April 15, 2009.
Please note, in accordance with NIH Guide Notice "Enhancing Peer Review: The NIH Announces Updated Implementation Timeline" (NOT-OD-09-023), the "New Scoring Procedures" (NOT-OD-09-024) and "Enhanced Review Criteria" (NOT-OD-09-025) will be in effect for all P42 applications submitted for the April 15, 2009 deadline.
