Washington National Records Center (Suitland, MD) Technical Workshops
The WNRC regularly offers a free 3-hour workshop entitled, "Using Washington National Records Center Services," which provides specific information on the procedures and documentation currently used in retiring records the WNRC. It also describes the Center's reference service, procedures for retrieving files, and final disposition of the records. A tour of the Center is included.
The Center also offers free workshops on the electronic processing of reference requests using the Centers Information Processing System (CIPS). This system is an interactive mainframe application developed for agencies storing their records at the Center and other NARA regional facilities. The workshops provide hands-on instruction on using CIPS.
