-------------------------------------------------------------- NCEP Eta Great Lakes surface temperature data (revised 8/2000) -------------------------------------------------------------- The most recent data file is stored at ftp://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/glsea/ncepetagl.dat, and contains surface temperature data extracted from the daily Great Lakes Environmental Analysis (GLSEA) composite at National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Eta model grid points. This data is available each day at about 06:30 LST as part of GLSEA production. Historical data files are stored at URL http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/cwdata/let/yyyy/, with names of form "gyyyyjjj00.let, where yyyy is the 4-digit year, and jjj day of year. The first record of each file is an eight character analysis date (yyyymmdd), followed by data records with the following format: Columns Format Description ------- ------ ----------- 1- 5 I5 NCEP Eta grid point indentifier 6- 6 1X Blank 7-10 F4.1 Water surface temperature (C) 11-11 1X Blank 12-15 F3.1 Ice concentration (1.00 = 100% ice) In cases where an NCEP Eta grid point is over land, the coordinates of the nearest over-water point have been SUBSTITUTED.
