NMFS Announces 2004 Recordkeeping and Reporting Workshop Schedule at Pacific Marine Expo
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region, and the United States Coast Guard, North Pacific Regional Fisheries Training Center (USCG) will present workshops for the fishing industry on 2004 recordkeeping and reporting (R&R) requirements for Federal fisheries off the coast of Alaska, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.
Regulations for Federal fisheries off Alaska are found at 50 CFR part 679. The workshops will present upcoming R&R changes, groundfish and Individual Fishing Quota (IFQ) R&R requirements along with instructions for completion and submission of the required forms and logsheets, including electronic submission options. The R&R workshop schedule is as follows:
November 12, 2003, 2 p.m to 4 p.m., Pacific standard time Trident Seafoods Corporation 401 Alexander Avenue, Building 592 Tacoma, WA.
November 13, 2003, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Pacific standard time Fishing Vessel Owners Association 4005 20th Avenue West, Room 232 Seattle, WA.
November 20, 2003, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Pacific standard time FISH EXPO Room 307-308 Washington State Trade and Convention Center Seattle, Washington
These workshops will be directed toward vessels. If you wish to attend a shoreside processor R&R workshop during the above time periods, please contact Patsy A. Bearden (see below) to make individual arrangements. Suggestions and recommendations on scheduling workshops in other locations are welcome.
