Guercino: Drawings from Windsor Castle

March 15-May 17, 1992

Overview: This exhibition of 60 Guercino drawings was selected from the Windsor Castle collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

A special lecture series and slide lectures on Guercino and his contemporaries were presented in March and April. The exhibition was organized by the Royal Library, Windsor Castle, in conjunction with the National Gallery of Art, Washington; the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth; and the Drawing Center, New York. Andrew Robison, Andrew W. Mellon senior curator, coordinated the show for the National Gallery. The exhibition was supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities.
