Public Notice of Alternative Arrangements Camp Villere Rifle Range/Supply & Administration Buildings, Alternate Project,Slidell,Louisiana
On August 29, 2005, the timber baffles along the north side of the Camp Villere rifle range, were severely damaged by storm-force winds and flying debris stemming from Hurricane Katrina. Rather than replace the pre-existing facility, the applicant has determined that the public interest would be better served by an alternate project, which includes demolition of the range baffles, and placing earthen fill to construct three construction pads, and construction of three supply and administration buildings, each measuring forty feet by eighty feet, with appurtenant structures, on and south of National Guard Road.
