FEMA To Hold Public Meeting For Seabrook Exercise Participants

Boston, MA -- On Monday, October 28, 2002 at 7:00 p.m., the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct a public meeting for participants in the Seabrook Station Emergency Preparedness Exercise to be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2002. The full scale emergency preparedness exercise will be evaluated by FEMA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The participants' meeting will be held at the Seabrook Community Center, 311 Lafayette Road (Route 1) Seabrook, New Hampshire 03874.

At the meeting representatives from FEMA, the State of New Hampshire, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and North Atlantic Energy Service Corp. will present their initial findings on the conduct of the emergency exercise. Exercise participants from the New Hampshire and Massachusetts towns within the Seabrook Emergency Planning Zone will also have the opportunity to make observations on the exercise.

The public and the news media are welcome to attend. While the meeting will be conducted for the exercise participants only, members of the general public who wish to comment on the off-site portion of the exercise may do so in writing. Comments should be addressed to:
