Training Institute
The Coastal Training Institute provides
skills development, technical
training and professional development to the
coastal management
community through training design and delivery, meeting
support,
facilitation services, professional workshop and conference
coordination.
Upcoming and ongoing activites of the Training Institute
include:
- Training in Metadata Management and FGDC Compliance
- Development of a community based coastal hazard mitigation training program in coordination with the NOAA National Ocean Service Office of Coastal Resource Management and the University of Rhode Island Island Coastal Resources Center.
- training in facilitation/meeting management and
conflict resolution

- Goal Setting and
Success Criteria for Coastal Habitat Restoration,

- organized and delivered national and regional
workshops on
coral reef monitoring technologies; pollution impacts on
marine
fisheries populations; metadata management; harmful algal
blooms.
- coordinated, designed and facilitated a conference for
mid-level
staff of state coastal management programs, National Marine
Sanctuaries
and National Estuarine Research Reserves in California,
Oregon,
Washington and Alaska.
