Disaster Recovery Center To Open In Miller County For Three Days

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, (ADEM), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announce the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Miller County on Monday, May 4 at noon.

The location of the Miller County DRC will be:

Doddridge Community Center
Hwy 160
Doddridge, AR  71834

The DRC will be open for three days and will serve those affected by the severe storms and tornadoes of April 9. Operating hours will be Monday, May 4 from noon to 6 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday (May 5 and 6)  from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The DRC in Sevier County (De Queen) will close temporarily on Monday through Wednesday while the disaster recovery team assists Miller County residents at the Doddridge DRC. The center will then reopen in

De Queen on Thursday at 7 a.m. and remain open with regular hours until further notice.

A DRC provides residents an opportunity to meet face to face with representatives from state and federal agencies and receive answers to questions they may have about the recovery process. To get the most out of a trip to a DRC, residents should first register for assistance in advance of their visit by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585. Online registration is also available at www.fema.gov or www.disasterassistance.gov.

SBA representatives will be at the DRC to assist individuals and business owners in applying for a loan or completing their disaster loan applications. Representatives will also answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program. Anyone not able to visit a center should call 1-800-659-2955 or visit the SBA Web site at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.
