National Training Center and Clearinghouse (NTCC)

The National Training Center and Clearinghouse (NTCC) in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) supports a variety of training opportunities for NN/LM members and for health professionals. The NTCC sponsors more than 40 classroom sessions across the country each year as well as Web-based training on the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) information resources. The training is provided to health professionals, librarians, other professional groups, and members of the general public.

In addition to providing training, the NTCC focuses on developing Web-based tutorials, maintains a Web site and also manages a searchable database with links to web-based health education training materials.

Beginning May 1, 2009 a new workbook policy will be implemented. Due to the continuing rise in printing and shipping costs, the National Training Center and Clearinghouse (NTCC) will NO longer provide workbooks for class participants.
It will be the responsibility of each registered class participant to produce and bring the various workbooks to the classes for which he/she is registered.
Classes held at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, MD are not included in this new policy.
Participants may download and print out the workbooks from the NIH website.
The PubMed® and NLM Gateway/ClnicalTrials.gov workbooks are available in two formats: Microsoft Word and PDF (Adobe Acrobat).
The TOXNET® and Beyond workbook is available in one format: PDF (Adobe Acrobat).
The Adobe Acrobat reader is freely avilable for download from Adobe's website.

The National Training Center and Clearinghouse (NTCC) of The National Network of Libraries of Medicine is located at The New York Academy of Medicine. The NTCC is funded by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Contract Number NO1-LM-1-3521.
