Strike Team Arrests Suspect in Cab Driver’s
Murder |
|
Alvarado, TX - Strike Team Officers from
the Dallas Police Department and Dallas County Sheriffs Department along
with Deputy United States Marshals arrested Eric Christopher Hodges in
Alvarado, Texas. Hodges is considered a suspect in the murder of Lois Jean
Ivory, 53, of De Soto, who was found shot to death in her cab in west Grand
Prairie around 9:00pm Sunday night, April 13, 2008.
Grand Prairie Police requested assistance from Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive
Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST) in the investigation of attempting to
locate and arrest Hodges. Strike Team Officers determined that Hodges had
fled the Grand Prairie area and was staying in Alvarado, Texas. DFW FAST
arrested the murder suspect at 9612 Gina Lane, Alvarado, Texas at around
1:30pm without incident. Hodges was transported to the Grand Prairie Police
Department and turned over to Grand Prairie Police pending formal charges.
Since the establishment of DFW FAST in January 2004, the Strike Team has
arrested over 7,300 violent fugitives. These arrests in turn have prevented
some of these suspects from continuing to victimize an unsuspecting public
and making our area a safer place to live, work and play. DFW FAST is
diverse task force consisting of local, state, and federal law enforcement
agencies from the Dallas and Fort Worth area. DFW FAST was established to
assist local, state and federal agencies in the apprehension of fugitive
felons.
