The NIH Library announces the addition of CINAHL Plus to its collection of databases. CINAHL Plus is available to NIH staff on campus and through remote access.
Coverage
- Indexes more than 3,000 journals in nursing and allied health.
- Covers journal article citations from 1937 to the present.
- Contains 360 research instrument records with details on validation and utilization.
- Provides access to full-text articles through the "NIH Library Full-Text Plus!" service.
- Includes English-language nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses Association.
- Covers the research literature in alternative/complementary medicine, biomedicine, consumer health, health sciences librarianship, nursing, and 17 allied health disciplines.

- Advanced searches with limits for publication type, language, gender, age group, and special interest.
- Visual searches that organize results by topic in a visual map.
- Clustering of search results to assist in refining searches.
- Thesaurus of CINAHL Headings (subject terms).

Access
- To access CINAHL Plus, go to the NIH Library webpage, select "Research Tools," then select "Databases."
- CINAHL Plus will replace the CINAHL® database on December 31, 2007. CINAHL will continue to be available until that date.
