Community Relations Division

comment

The Community Relations Division, headquartered at the Pentagon, serves as the Army’s senior outreach effort. Through events and relationships with a wide spectrum of businesses, organizations, and local community and education leaders, the division staff communicates Soldiers’ stories through a variety of mediums and brings the nation closer to the Soldiers who serve them.

With regional offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City, the division can conduct outreach efforts and serve as a positive Army presence in these regions. In addition to these offices, our network includes the Army National Guard and Army Reserve, who provide outreach in every state in the country and Army installations around the world. These combine to ensure a unified and responsive presence that works hard to answer your questions and support your events.

Executive Communications

Our Army has an important story to tell and our spokespeople, at all levels, need to have the skills to clearly communicate in a way that the media and the public will understand and appreciate. The Executive Communications Branch provides targeted training for senior leaders, Soldiers, family members and Army civilians to increase the comfort level and confidence of the men and women who represent the Army.

Regional Offices

Our Army maintains a presence in all 50 states, so no matter where you are, the Army is there to support you. Our coast-to-coast network of dedicated Soldiers and public affairs officers provide assistance through three regional offices located in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York to sustain the Midwest, West and Northeast regions, respectively.

Operation Tribute to Freedom

Operation Tribute to Freedom (OTF) is an Army Community Relations program that works in conjunction with Army public affairs officers to recognize and honor Soldiers who have returned from supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. It identifies media opportunities and events for returning Soldiers to share their experiences with their local communities ensuring the public maintains a direct connection to today’s Army.

“The Community Relations Division (CRD) serves as the senior outreach arm for the Office of the Chief, Public Affairs, communicating key themes and messages directly to organizations, centers of influence and the American public. We provide media training to senior Army leaders ensuring the Army’s story is told effectively to the media and other audiences around the world.
