Coastal Nonpoint Program Success Stories

view

States have supported many projects to address nonpoint source pollution from development (foreground) and marinas (background).

The following compilation of Coastal Nonpoint Program success stories highlight accomplishments of state Coastal Nonpoint Programs. The stories are organized by the six sources of polluted runoff the program addresses (agriculture, forestry, urban, marinas, hydromodification, and wetlands and riparian areas) and other required program elements such as developing a monitoring and tracking program, and identifying critical coastal areas that may need additional management measures to adequately address nonpoint source pollution.

These success stories are part of a monthly feature to the Coastal Nonpoint Program listserve, a listserve for state Coastal Nonpoint Program coordinators and federal partners. The articles are written for an audience with familiarity of the Coastal Nonpoint Program and nonpoint source pollution management issues.
