Student requirements and sponsoring-teacher responsibilities

Sponsoring-Teacher Responsibilities

  • Identify potential students (preferably juniors) currently enrolled in your upper-level art studio or art history classes
  • Attend orientation with your student at the National Gallery of Art on Saturday, November 15, 2008
  • Assist your student with seminar assignments and preparations for the final program

Student Requirements

  • Secure nomination and sponsorship from an art teacher whose class you will be taking in fall 2008
  • Submit an application
  • Attend the first day orientation session with a parent or guardian and attend with a sponsoring teacher on Saturday, November 15, 2008
  • Attend all ten Saturday sessions of the seminar

Application Instructions and Forms

The application deadline is September 26, 2008. Selection is competitive.

Prospective sponsoring teachers: print out both forms, fill out the teacher form, have a potential student participant fill out the student form, and mail or fax both forms together.
