This is the media and seminar room of the national hurricane center.

During the threat of a landfalling hurricane in the United States, the room is opened up to local and national media outlets, providing round the clock coverage of the approaching storm.

Live hourly briefings are provided by the national hurricane center director and hurricane specialists from the hurricane briefing desk, located in the operations area.

During the off season, the room is used as a classroom for workshops and seminars attended by a number of government agencies and constituents.
