Honolulu, HI – Deputies, officers and agents
from throughout the state participated in the U.S.
Marshals-led Operation FALCON on the islands of Maui
and Oahu. Focusing primarily on the island of Maui,
the four-day operation from June 24-27 netted 61
fugitives, 51 from Maui, and cleared 67 warrants, as
well as generated 14 new cases for various narcotics
violations.
The warrants executed were for various felony
offenses to include Promoting Dangerous Drugs,
Methamphetamine Trafficking, and Manslaughter.
Officers seized approximately four grams of
methamphetamine, 46 prescription drug pills, and 21
marijuana plants.
Operation FALCON is the largest U.S. Marshals
Service-led fugitive apprehension initiative. It
combines the efforts of federal, state, and local
law enforcement agencies all working for a common
goal, making our community safer. The operation, led
by the U.S. Marshals Hawaii Fugitive Task Force,
included over 30 law enforcement officers from nine
different agencies.
“The success of this mission can be attributed to
the sincerity of commitment by Hawaii law
enforcement to act as one body in apprehending
violent fugitives. These dangerous felons, who see
crime as a career, our communities as their domain
and our people as their prey are no longer in
business as a result of our pledge for unity and to
function as one law enforcement family,” said Mark
“Dutch” Hanohano, U.S. Marshal for the District of
Hawaii.
