MICROMEDEX® is a web-based drug information service for Clinical Center staff and patient care providers. Access is provided through the NIH Library.
 
Objectives:
Learn how to get the most out of MICROMEDEX:
  • Locate general drug information: recommended dosage, indications, potential side effects, proper administration, and monitoring.
  • Check drug interactions and IV compatibility.
  • Compare multiple drugs.
  • Identify drug therapies.
  • Access the electronic version of the PDR®.
  • Utilize dosage calculators.
  • View detailed evidence-based drug monographs.
  • Access emergency medicine information.
  • View and print patient education leaflets on drugs, lab tests, procedures, conditions, and treatment.
  • Consult MICROMEDEX using PDAs and smartphones.
