MICROMEDEX: Efficient Access to Drug Information


Description:
	MICROMEDEX® is a web-based drug information service for Clinical Center staff and patient care providers. Access is provided through the NIH Library.

Objectives:

Learn how to get the most out of MICROMEDEX:

Locate general drug information: recommended dosage, indications, potential side effects, proper administration, and monitoring.
Check drug interactions and IV compatibility.
Compare multiple drugs.
Identify drug therapies.
Access the electronic version of the PDR®.
Utilize dosage calculators.
View detailed evidence-based drug monographs.
Access emergency medicine information.
View and print patient education leaflets on drugs, lab tests, procedures, conditions, and treatment.
Consult MICROMEDEX using PDAs and smartphones.
