The Department of Defense has announced the 2007 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award recipients. The Freedom Award is the highest recognition given to employers for their support of their employees who also serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
President Bush Salutes Employers
President President Bush has signed a federal proclamation declaring Sept. 9-15 as National Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week for 2007. “During National Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week, we recognize the vital contributions of the brave men and women who serve our great nation, and we pay tribute to the employers who support them,” the commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces stated in the proclamation. Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center
WASHINGTON, Sept. 4, 2007 – When Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Timothy Stoeckle deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2004, he never heard a word from his employer.
