This week the Army and Navy announced an increase, while the Air Force and Marine Corps announced a decrease. The Coast Guard number remained unchanged. The net collective result is 243 more reservists activated than last week.
At any given time, services may activate some units and individuals while deactivating others, making it possible for these figures to either increase or decrease. The total number currently on active duty from the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 99,329; Navy Reserve, 6,737; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 14,201; Marine Corps Reserve, 7,482; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 666. This brings the total National Guard and Reserve personnel who have been activated to 128,415, including both units and individual augmentees.
