MONTGOMERY, AL -- Travel trailer maintenance crews in Alabama are conducting routine, once-a-month checks to ensure travel trailers remain trouble-free.
The Alabama Emergency Management Agency and U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have established a phone number to make sure travel trailer residents get support with any problems they might have.

The maintenance number is 866-453-9118. Individuals and families can get help by calling the number twenty-four hours a day.

All residents of travel trailers should have their applicant number on hand when they call. If the resident’s trailer is located in a state park, the resident should have the address of the park and the unit number the trailer is on. If the trailer is located at a commercial campground, residents should have the park name and address, the phone number of the park, and the lot number their trailer is on. If the trailer is located on private property, the property address will be needed.

Community Relations teams are currently visiting travel trailer sites to make sure residents have the maintenance number and to ensure they have all the information they need about trailer maintenance.

FEMA prepares the nation for all hazards and manages the federal response and recovery efforts following an incident of national significance. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, trains first responders, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program and the U.S. Fire Administration. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
