As was mentioned in a listserv posting on 02/10/2009, GPO has been working with STAT-USA to issue new passwords, create FAQs, and revise the validation form for Federal depository libraries wanting to receive access to STAT-USA®/Internet™ and USA Trade® Online.
The FAQs and the revised validation form are now available from the FDLP Desktop.
All depository libraries wanting to obtain access to STAT-USA’s databases, either for the first time or as a continuation, must complete, sign, and submit the new validation form to GPO by March 2, 2009. The form should be faxed to 202-512-2300. For those libraries that currently have access to USA®/Internet™ and USA Trade® Online, an interruption in service may occur if you do not return the form by the deadline.
Please read the FAQs prior to filling out the form. A signature on the form signifies that you have read the FAQs and understand the obligations of your library in providing no-fee public access to USA®/Internet™ and USA Trade® Online through the FDLP.
When GPO receives the completed form, a new password will be e-mailed by GPO to the Coordinator of record in the Federal Depository Library Directory. Your current password will remain valid until March 6, 2009, and issuance of new passwords will be completed by the same day.
