Highlights

EPA issued a Federal Register notice at 74 FR 38013, July 30, 2009 announcing receipt and availability of data developed under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on April 9, 1996, by EPA and the Dow Corning Corporation. The MOU covered six siloxanes deemed representative of a broad class of siloxanes that have widespread use in a variety of industrial and consumer applications.

June 17, 2009 -- Information on possible aquatic and sediment toxicity testing for nonylphenol (NP) and for certain short-chain nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs), which are widely used in detergents, and information and proposals for obtaining data on exposure of NPEs to industrial laundry workers is being requested by EPA in an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM). November 25, 2008 -- EPA issued an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) on formaldehyde emissions from pressed wood products to investigate whether and what type of regulatory or other action might be appropriate to protect against risks posed by formaldehyde emitted from pressed wood products.
