  Small boat passing over hydrophone

bloop spectrogramThis spectrogram shows the result of having a vessel pass very near an underwater hydrophone, overwhelming all other sounds and saturating the hydrophone recording. The relatively high frequency of the noise indicates a smaller vessel, perhaps a fishing boat or pleasure craft, in the immediate vicinity.
