Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF)
The Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the one million immigrants who entered the "Ellis Island of the West" between 1910 and 1940. In partnership with the California State Parks, the National Park Service, and the National Archives, the AIISF seeks to restore the historic structures on the Immigration Station site and preserve the 300 poems and inscriptions in Chinese, Japanese, Punjabi and Russian. These writings on the barracks' walls speak of the isolation, anguish, and anger of these stranded souls seeking entrance to the United States in a time of racially biased immigration laws.
The Immigration Station was designated as a National Historical Landmark in 1997 and declared one of "America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places" in 1999.

Established by state statute in 1850, the California State Archives, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State, is the official repository for the state's permanent governmental records as well as other materials documenting California history. The California State Archives collects, describes, preserves, and provides access to the historic records of state government and some local governments. The Society of Hispanic Historical and Ancestral Research (SHHAR)
The Society of Hispanic Historical and Ancestral Research (SHHAR) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, founded in 1986, with the goal of helping Hispanics/Latinos research their family history. Although the group is based in Orange County, California, networking participation via the Internet is world-wide, via www.SomosPrimos.com. SHHAR is maintained through donations.

South San Francisco Historical Society
The South San Francisco Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together those people interested in the past, present, and future of our community and to preserve our heritage for future generations. In partnership with the City of South San Francisco, the Society's museum is housed in a city facility at 80 Chestnut Avenue. On display are photos and artifacts highlighting the manufacturing past of The Industrial City. Industries such as meat packing, steel forging, ship building, leather tanning, cattle ranching and flower growing flourished in South San Francisco and provided jobs and prosperity to the region. Admission is free.
