PRESS RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Every day we read with sorrow the terrible news about the Middle East and have great concern for the people of Israel, many of whom are Holocaust survivors, our colleagues at Yad Vashem, and all who are enduring this tragic conflict. During these difficult times of extreme conflict and out of serious concern for the safety of our staff, the Museum originally determined that they should not attend the upcoming conference at Yad Vashem. However, we have reflected further on that decision, and although we remain quite concerned about safety, we have decided that it is important that individual employees who want to attend this conference should make that decision for themselves and should attend if they so choose. We remain hopeful for peace for all people in Israel and the Middle East, and we look forward to continuing in every way our fruitful partnership with Yad Vashem which shares our mission of Holocaust remembrance.
