E-file and E-sign (American Sign Language) - YouTube video text script

Hello, I work at IRS.

There are more important reasons to electronically file your taxes.

First, if you e-file and use direct deposit, you’ll get your refund in as little as 10 days.

Second, e-file is more accurate than paper filing.

And finally, most taxpayers can prepare and e-file their tax returns for free with free file, available only at www.irs.gov

If you don’t qualify for free file, you’ll find there’s some tax software companies waiving their filing fee.

Meanwhile, there’s something else I need to tell you.

When you e-file your tax return, you must use a five-digit personal identification number, or pin, to sign your return.

This is especially important if last year you signed your electronic return by mailing IRS a form instead of creating a pin.

To get your pin from last year or to create a new pin, you’ll need your adjusted gross income from last year’s return.

If you don’t know last year’s AGI or pin, call us at 800-829-1040.

And remember, e-file is the fastest, easiest, and most accurate way to file your return.

e-file today.
