When you fill out your paper tax return, make sure you don't make any of these common mistakes.  Such as... forgetting to sign and date the return.   Leaving off or mixing up the order your children's' social security numbers.  Or making a math error.   Returns with common mistakes take longer to process .  Better yet:  e-file and let the system double check your return for you.  Get all the details on I-R-S-dot-gov.
