TTB offers a Laboratory Certification Program for the export of wines and
spirits to foreign markets. The European Economic Community and many countries accept a report of analysis from a TTB-Certified Laboratory accompanying the export shipment as a condition of entry.

This certification is free-of-charge and is open to graduate chemists and/or enologists engaged in the analyses of wines and/or spirits for export
(Revenue Procedure 69-22; ATF Procedure 86-2; Industry Circular 92-3).
Initial certification is for a period of two years and re-certification is required at the expiration of the two-year period. Twice a year, TTB provides a list of certified laboratories to the foreign governments.

TTB also accepts a laboratory report from a TTB-Certified Laboratory (in lieu of sample submission to the TTB Laboratory) for total sulfur dioxide analysis for label approval of wines whose labels do not bear a sulfite declaration (Compliance Matters 94-2).
