Security Engineer

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary:

$50, 000 – $98,000

Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area


If you are a highly motivated and technically astute individual interested in making an impact on the mission of CIA in the field of security, then look no further. Security Engineers at the CIA provide project management and systems engineering support in the design, development, acquisition, and integration of cutting edge and unique technologies for the next generation physical, technical, and analytical security systems, including physical security convergence with Information Technology, Intrusion Detection Systems, video surveillance, access control, technical surveillance countermeasure tools, locking systems and devices, and sensors. Frequent domestic travel and occasional overseas travel will be required.


Minimum requirements: Applicants must hold at the time of appointment at least the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited US college or university in the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Security Engineering Technology, or Physics. Additionally, applicants must be self-starters and creative; and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, integrity, initiative, and technical excellence.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
