NRO Financial Management: Cost Estimator

The
National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) seeks qualified individuals to serve as Cost
Estimators, performing a wide range of acquisition activities for large space
system development and acquisition programs (see our website at www.nro.gov). Cost
Estimators assist senior NRO officials with resource decisions by designing and
executing analytic studies offering insights into NRO programs and activities
and by estimating the full costs for selected new initiatives and expanded
projects. Cost Estimators also develop independent cost estimates on major NRO
system acquisition programs, assist in the evaluation of cost estimates
prepared by NRO program offices, assess technical characteristics of satellite
systems, assist in the performance of technical and cost uncertainty analyses,
develop cost and schedule models based on cost/technical data of historical
programs, and participate in source selection activities.
Minimum
Requirements include
a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Operations Research,
Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and
psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background
investigation. US citizenship is required.
To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally
not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal
drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical
and security processing.
