The MSS cadre provides coverage for the management and support for organizational messaging over a 24 hour period 7 days a week, 365 days per year. The MSS will perform a variety of duties to ensure proper dissemination of incoming and outgoing organizational messages. MSSs must possess in-depth knowledge of message formats and the CIA organizational structure. Certain MSSs will also work with CIA components and Directorate representatives to develop and convert CIA-wide message dissemination requirements into messaging dissemination profiles.

Handling this variety of responsibilities requires excellent communication, analytical, organizational, leadership, customer service, and oversight skills. An ability to utilize and synthesize these skills to work closely with a diverse group of professionals while mentoring junior team members in a collaborative environment is incumbent on every MSS cadre member.

Minimum qualifications include extensive organizational messaging experience, a BS in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Network Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline with GPA of 3.0 or greater on 4.0 scale, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in information systems, computing technology, messaging systems, or related technology.
