U.S. Treasury Secretary Geithner to Attend Inter-American Development Bank’s Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors in Colombia

Washington, DC – The U.S. Department of Treasury today announced that Secretary Tim Geithner will travel to Medellin, Colombia to attend the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors on March 29, 2009.

Secretary Geithner will deliver remarks at the IDB Annual Meeting's Inaugural Session at the Metropolitan Theatre in Medellin at approximately 5:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, March 29.  The event is open press.

Media requesting to travel with Secretary Geithner must send the following information to Frances Anderson in the Office of Public Affairs frances.anderson@do.treas.gov: full name, news organization, passport number and country of issue.  Please note that a visa is required to travel to Colombia. Requests to travel with the Secretary must be submitted via email by 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2009.  Space is extremely limited; Treasury cannot guarantee that all requests will be accommodated.
