Project Manager for IT

Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary: $86,927 – $153,200

CIA project management positions offer a wide variety of challenging and exciting opportunities to manage the delivery of innovative technology solutions to customers across the Agency, the Intelligence Community (IC), and the Homeland Security (HS) community. CIA's multi-level project management specialty provides Project Managers with various levels of experience an opportunity to serve on and/or lead teams that adapt and integrate new technologies and enhance existing systems to meet mission objectives. Our Project Managers are the key to ensuring that the Agency's business customers receive timely and innovative technology solutions that meet their mission needs.

Successful candidates will apply their sound Project Management Lifecycle expertise to initiate, lead, plan, implement and coordinate the activities of single or multiple technical projects of varying size and complexity. They may participate in procurement activities related to their projects and/or other projects, and they may perform Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) responsibilities. Successful candidates will have the ability to clearly provide project statuses to all levels of Agency, IC, and HS management and personnel, and will have a proven track record for delivering quality technical capabilities on time and within budget in a dynamic work environment.


Minimum requirements : A B.S. degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems. Three to ten years of experience in the full range of project/program management lifecycle activities with an emphasis in project planning, risk assessment, resource management, estimating and monitoring costs, quality management and project contract management. Excellent oral and written communications skills; a strong commitment to continuous learning; the ability to work in a team environment, to motivate people and to keep senior management apprised of the progress of the project are also essential, and the ability to listen well and work with others to obtain results. It is expected that Senior and Expert Officers at the higher end of this profession will have substantial experience in resource management (including personnel and budgets) and independent decision making about the commitment of project resources, planning, implementation and progress, with demonstrated accountability for projects and/or programs that included corporate interests and results. Industry or government experience in managing projects and applying CMMI ® and other national or internationally established quality best practices, is a plus.
