ICE comments on the visa fraud convictions of immigration lawyer and her assistant
HOUSTON - In response to yesterday's conviction of an immigration lawyer and her assistant, who were found guilty on charges of visa fraud, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued this statement:
“We will investigate anyone who files false petitions to circumvent the federal immigration laws in place,” said Robert Rutt, special agent in charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Houston. “We will work closely with the U.S. Attorney's office to ensure that individuals don't abuse our legal immigration systems, and we will shut down the vulnerabilities that some choose to exploit.”
