Other Coastal Pelagic Species

Jack mackerel and Northern anchovy are part of the Coastal Pelagic Species (CPS) Fisheries Management Plan (FMP). These two species, along with market squid, are considered monitored species meaning that they have been determined not to need management by harvest guidelines or quotas according to the provisions of the FMP. Jack mackerel and northern anchovy are actively monitored by the California Department of Fish and Game.
