Energy Incentives for Individuals and Business in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides numerous tax incentives for individuals and businesses to invest in energy-efficient products.

The IRS announced details on these incentives — including tax credits for installation of energy-efficient windows, doors and heating and cooling equipment, as well as funding for renewable energy power plants — on April 22, 2009.

Fact Sheet 2009-10 contains a broader listing of energy-related provisions in the ARRA, including residential credits, plug-in vehicle credits, energy bonds and more.
