In the United States, the Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has the primary responsibility for
stewardship of marine resource. NOAA's activities include monitoring the
health of domestic coral reefs, restoring damaged or destroyed sections of
coral reefs, and maintaining coral reef health through management,
research, and education.
The real responsibility for sustaining our coral reefs falls to all of us.
