Abbreviations for Vaccines Included in the
Immunization Schedules for Children, Adolescents, and Adults
Following is a table of standardized vaccine abbreviations, which was developed jointly by staff of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ACIP Workgroups, the editor of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), the editor of Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (the "Pink Book"), ACIP members, and liaison organizations to the ACIP.
These abbreviations are intended to provide a uniform approach to vaccine references used in ACIP Recommendations and Notices to Readers that are published in the MMWR, the Pink Book, the American Academy of Pediatrics Red Book, and other publications.
