Western Renewable Energy Zones The WREZ initiative has brought together diverse interests to identify those areas in the Western Interconnection with vast, concentrated and developable renewable energy resources and with low, land-development conflicts. The information and analytical tools being developed will assist public utility commissions, energy and transmission developers, utilities and others working to bring more renewable energy online. This is a joint initiative of the WGA and the U.S. Department of Energy.
