The office provides coordination, oversight, direction, and supervision towards the development of the 5-year OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Program and ensures the timely completion and coordination of all preleasing aspects of the offshore leasing program.

The Marine Minerals staff provides policy direction and guidance for the development of marine mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf.

The Mapping and Boundary Branch determines the offshore boundaries associated with the leasing program. They provide Maps and GIS data of the MMS Offshore Leasing Regions.
