As MeF continues to grow, we will provide updates on new initiatives and enhancements on this webpage.
Individual Returns - 1040 MeF Program (including Form 4868)
IRS is adding the Form 1040, Form 4868, and 21 1040-related forms and schedules to the Modernized e-File (MeF) platform. This initial rollout will feature the most commonly filed forms. The Assurance Testing System (ATS) for these forms is scheduled to open November 2009 and Production is scheduled for January 2010.
