- Watermark. A watermark of Jackson is located in the blank space to the right of the portrait and is visible from both sides when held up to a light.
- Security Thread. The thread, which glows green under an ultraviolet light, is positioned to the far left of the portrait on the note. The words “USA TWENTY” and a flag can be seen from both sides of the note when held up to a bright light.
- Fine Line Printing Patterns. The fine lines printed behind Jackson's portrait and the White House are
difficult to replicate.
- Microprinting. "USA 20" is repeated within the numberal in the lower left corner on the front of the note. Also, “The United States of America” appears along the lower edge ornamentation framing the portrait.
- Color-Shifting Ink. The number in the lower right corner on the front
of the note looks green when viewed straight on, but black when viewed at an angle.
- Low-Vision Feature. The large numeral "20" in the lower right corner on the back of the $20 note is
easy to read.
