Maine is in the process of developing a Wind Powering America state Wind Working Group. Wind Working Groups provide a forum where government, academic institutions, utilities, energy marketers, developers, and community stakeholders can collaborate to promote smart and successful wind energy development in the state, identify barriers and opportunities related to wind development, develops plans to overcome barriers to siting good wind projects, promote public understanding of wind power, its benefits and impacts, and foster job creation and economic development.
