Seismic Activity - Endeavour Ridge- October, 2004

Endeavour Ridge 2004 seismicity mapSOSUS recorded an intense earthquake swarm of 105 events from 08:30Z to 11:05Z on October 5 located along the central Endeavour segment (JdFR). The swarm is centered near 48-07'N; 129-03'W which is roughly 18 km north-northwest of the main Endeavour vent field.

The swarm, as of now, is small in comparison to the seafloor spreading episodes observed along the Endeavour in 1999 and Middle Valley in 2001. However, its proximity to the MEF-R2K integrated study site adds significance to this event. (click image for full-size)
