Individual Income Tax Returns Filed During the Filing Season

Filing Season Weekly Reports
These weekly reports contain data that track the filings of individual income tax returns on a weekly basis with a final report available towards the end of the year.

Taxpayer Usage Study (TPUS)
TPUS reports contain estimates on the number of returns reporting certain income and tax items and are based on a daily random sample of individual income tax returns that are filed at IRS service centers and lock-box sites during the filing season. These data are then processed and posted on a weekly basis approximately from February through April. A final report is issued at the end of August.
