Natasha Bedingfield

 Natasha Bedingfield

Born in New Zealand and raised in England, singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield grew up in a musical family. Natasha sang with her brother Daniel and sister Nikola as "The DNA Algorithm." Her 2004 debut solo CD, Unwritten, earned her a Grammy nomination, and sold more than three million copies worldwide. In 2007, Natasha released an album titled N.B., and last year followed with "Pocketful of Sunshine."

Franklin performed in Washington at the swearing-in ceremony of U.S. President Barack Obama. The "Queen of Soul" joined VOA for a rare look at one of music's true icons.  VOA's Larry London sat with Natasha to discuss her new CD.

Blessid Union of Souls

 Elliot Sloan

In 1995, Blessid Union of Souls released their debut album, Home. Since then, Blessid Union of Souls' lead singer and founder Eliott Sloan has continued to write and produce music for the group. Although the band has not been able to duplicate the success of their first album, they have returned after a four-year break. Elliot Sloan and fellow band member guitarist Tony Clarke recently talked with VOA about their return to the studio.western music CD, "Untold Truths."

With 12 Oscar nominations and three British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, Kevin Costner has nothing left to prove in the motion picture industry.  The band joined VOA's Larry London on his program.

Colbie Caillat

Colbie CaillatColbie Caillat credits the website MySpace with helping her develop the fan base she needed to secure a record deal and release her debut album, Coco.  She says her influences for the record ranged from soul to reggae to classic rock, and included her father, a recording engineer and producer who convinced Caillat to become a songwriter. 

Now working on her second album, Caillat spoke with VOA's Larry London about the path her career has taken so far, the future, and the story behind her music videos.
