Mr. Schiff: Hi. This is “Wanted By the FBI” from the FBI. The manhunt for a college professor from Georgia is over. The body of George Martin Zinkhan III was found. FBI Supervisory Special Agent Carlton Peeples says he was wanted for a triple murder. …
Mr. Peeples: “For federal charges he’s wanted for Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution and he’s wanted for three counts of First Degree Murder locally.”
Mr. Schiff: Peeples works at the FBI’s Macon, Georgia, office in the Atlanta Division…
Mr. Peeples: “Mr. Zinkhan allegedly murdered three people in broad daylight. One, his wife, on Saturday, April 25 th, 2009.”
Mr. Schiff: Peeples says the murders happened at the Taylor-Grady House, a theater, in Athens, Georgia…
Mr. Peeples: “The murders were committed with a handgun, .38, and a semi-automatic .22 pistol.”
Mr. Schiff: Zinkhan’s body was found by cadaver dogs in a grave in Clarke County, Georgia. He apparently took his own life. The FBI, along with Georgia authorites and the U.S. Marshal’s Service, hunted for Zinkhan for two weeks. That’s “Wanted By the FBI” for this week. I’m Neal Schiff of the Bureau’s Office of Public Affairs.
