As one of many agencies allocating Recovery funds for federally recognized tribes, the Department of the Interior, through its Office of Indian Affairs, has allocated $500 Million in Recovery funds for new school and housing construction, road and bridge improvements, and workforce development.
The General Services Administration will spend $5.55 Billion on over 250 construction projects in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and two U.S. territories. The projects will support the President's vision for a clean energy future, create jobs, and reinvest in our public buildings.
Federal agencies provide weekly status reports of investments from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, showing funds made available and paid out and the agency’s major completed and planned actions.
To help middle-class families get back on their feet and restore some fairness to the tax code, President Obama in February signed one of his signature issues into law – the Making Work Pay tax credit. As a result, families across the country are seeing more money in their paychecks.
On Friday, March 6, 2009, President Obama and Attorney General Holder announced the allocation of $2 billion in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to control crime and improve the criminal justice system.

National Dialogue on IT Solutions Yields Many Ideas and SuggestionsThanks to all who participated in the week-long national online dialogue on ideas and approaches for improving the Recovery.gov website. We have received many innovative ideas and thoughts from vendors, thinkers and consumers in the IT community around a key question: What ideas, tools, and approaches can make Recovery.gov a place where the public can monitor the expenditure and use of recovery funds? The National Academy of Public Administration is evaluating the comments and will present them to the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board for consideration.
